Perhaps

Perhaps

A Poem by parker

We all must have our problems
And our battles that we fight,
And some of us will triumph,
While some won't even try.
And of all the problems I could get,
Most I will never face,
And perhaps I should believe in God
And thank Him for this fate.
Now, there are days when I am woken
From my sleep by shocks of pain
And sometimes it just hits me
One day I'll never see again.
But sometimes I'm almost happy
That the threat is in my life
Because it makes me think
And makes me see
What beauty I can find.
And so I took to taking pictures
To steal slices of time,
And file them and frame them,
Make them forever mine.
And maybe I'll get lucky,
And my sight will be just fine
And all my worried writings
Will become just jokes of mine
But if my vision fails me
My memory can play
The movies of the beauties
That I can see today.
