Art

Art

A Poem by parker

Mother Nature made us diamonds
To captivate our hearts.
To prove that what seems ugly
Can be polished into art.
But she never thought that diamonds
Would be taken from the earth,
Or that human men would only comprehend
A monetary worth.
Still, men could not have all the diamonds,
For they are not all stones.
Some exist on higher planes
To please our souls alone.
Mother Nature saw the ocean,
The rolling navy blue,
And stirred into it bright diamonds
To add some sparkle through.
She saw the ebony midnight sky,
Solid black and bare,
And frosted it with diamonds
To put some glamour there.
And then she saw the morning grass
Bright green but not alive.
So she sprinkled glittering diamonds on
To give it shining light.
Then Mother Nature saw my heart,
The cold sad place it was,
And gave to me a single diamond,
Gave to me your love.
