A Poem by parker

You can all stop acting
As though I'm a ticking bomb.
I'm perfectly fine.
A little tired, a little drained...
But perfectly fine.

You can stop looking for the anger
That you're so sure I'm hiding.
I'm not upset, I swear,
I'm just tired.

And I don't hate her.
I tried to, at first.
Her name hit me with a...
Click.
It just slid into place,
Like I'd expected it all along.

And in a way, I had.
Because nothing good ever comes easy.
Not that easy.
And she's such a perfect obstacle.
Because she's perfect.
And I am absolutely...
Not even close.

So he says her name
And I say...
Of course.

And no, I'm not upset,
I'm just drained, just tired.
It takes so much effort
To just be me,
I don't have the energy
To compete with her...
I don't even know where to start.
