New Moon

New Moon

A Poem by parker

The new moon glows
In the black silk sky.
So lonely, it seems,
A little moon and a million stars.

A million stars,
Burning with a blinding heat,
And a single moon,
Cold and alone,
trying its best.

I hope you know
I never meant to hurt you.
It isn't in me
To cause you pain.

I hope you shine,
Once I have left here.
I hope my memory
Won't leave you cold and alone.
