Religion

Religion

A Poem by Paul

Previous Version
This is a previous version of Religion.

From where did we embrace this religion

That has covered our eyes with such darkness?

Now our problems are a legion

And has got no name than backwardness

Didn’t   they say it would make us wise

And open our eyes to see the light.

Didn’t they say it would make us rise

And give our thoughts wings of flight?

Both old and young are drunk of it.

This religion has locked their heads

And all the is in a fit

Sleeping their lives in idle beds

What has happened to our reason

That everyone in different bands

Are marching their future to prison

And in religion’s name have folded their hands.
