Come Comfort Me

Come Comfort Me

A Poem by Tracey Newson

Come Comfort Me

I Call on you now, I say "I need a friend"
I'm coming undone, I fear this is the end
I'm broken in pieces, I'm Lost and alone
I'm afraid of this pain, and my urge to go home

So can you come, be by my side
open your heart, open your mind
Just listen awhile to the burdens I keep
Just be my friend, Come comfort me

I told you my story, of the secrets I keep
You felt ll my pain, I felt my release
You sat by my side, No judgment you gave
You just opened your heart to the healing I craved

So can you come, be by my side
open your heart, open your mind
Just listen awhile to the burdens I keep
Just be my friend, Come comfort me

You thought I was brave, I thought I was weak
You wrapped me in love, not a word did you speak
I was safe in your arms, surrounded by light
you brought me comfort, in the darkest of nights

So can you come, be by my side
open your heart, open your mind
Just listen awhile to the burdens I keep
Just be my friend, Come comfort me
