A Blank Page of Empty Thoughts

A Blank Page of Empty Thoughts

A Poem by PoemsbyPatrick

A blank page of empty thoughts,
Reminding me of you.
Once filled with the text of plans,
Meant to capture our life's view.

Our goals were set so long ago,
And now that most are met,
I've come to realize,
That some were never set.

The family, career, house and home,
All due success in full,
But in the process two of us,
Left with life's hue dull.

The fault is not to you my dear,
Or even onto to me,
Our lives have grown apart through years,
And toil honestly.

I want you to be happy,
Though in my arms I'm sure,
Is not the place you'll find,
The loving future pure.

The flame has come and gone,
From our passion's hold,
Our love has turned to winter,
And leaves my heart but cold.

The page is now so empty,
Just like my love for you.
A hope for your happiness,
But no hope for our view.

This is a beautiful poem, sad but beautiful. It takes a lot for someone to want happiness for someone who won't give them what makes them happy. It's a great write!

Wow - This is flawless.
Love the whole poem but this was great!

The flame has come and gone,
From our passion's hold,
Our love has turned to winter,
And leaves my heart but cold.
The page is now so empty,
Just like my love for you.
A hope for your happiness,
But no hope for our view.

And still caring that she find love elsewhere. Bravo!!!!

It must be the winter... Ha. Actually this is no laughing matter. We do lose precious love. Feelings die unpicked and unenjoyed over ripe on the vine. There are too often sequels to this fate of our love in life. We must learn why. The reasons are actualy very universal.
I wish I had not spent years living this poem! I admire those who can pick up and move on in their happiness. Also, and maybe more so, I admire those who can pick up and refresh their happiness without moving on. The saddest place is to stay and live on that blank page wasting years of life and love...
Your wrote a very honest poem and it will ring a note in many hearts and minds.

this was somewhat of a departure from what i normally see by you. a little less joyful and even somewhat dismal in outlook, however loving and genuine. it would seem there is more than one side to you after all.....curiouser and curiouser. i wonder what we will find next, down the rabbit hole...... very nice
