Mind Wanders

Mind Wanders

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

Sometime my mind wanders through wastelands
Of barren loves left unattained
And heated sand that blisters
Leaving tiny scars upon the heart
Small intricate patterns of art

Shortness my mind wander through swamps
Of yesterdays trials resolved
Yet murky waters cloud my vision
Blocking what’s already been cleared
Wispy fog floating with what’s feared

Sometimes my mind wanders through oceans
Deep po swimming sadness unrealistic
As tidal waves of emotions crash
As the weight feels heavy inside
Until there it a shift in the tide

Sometimes my my wanders through the sky
Of moonless grasping of things not seen
Clouds that whisper splendid faerytales
Lies that leave destruction in its wake
Harsh words that bluster are only fake

My mind wanders too and not always to beautiful places and pósitive thoughts. This poem appears to be focusing on the negative. Barren loves and sand that blisters are strong images that do little for a soft heart. Your stanzas are always composed with careful thought. You write so well PB.

I like the construction of this....and the four sectors it covers...

I would have liked it even more with just the first stanza as the entire poem...

Those five lines could stand on their own.

nicely done.

Trying to slow the brain and life down can be quite the challenge and making it shut down
doesn't sound like very nice places to be wandering. i like how you used powerful elements of nature to describe the "places"/feelings where her mind wandered. we all need to be careful of what comes out of our mouths. sometimes we need to find a new path.

Thank you. I like to add a lot visual aspect to my poetry
My mind only wandered once. I've been looking for it ever since. I lost it when I was very young so I hope I can recognize it now. As our thoughts age do they turn to wine like fermented grapes; some intoxicating concoction of rapidly firing synapses or do they simply wander away like the Australian aborigine across a vast and empty plain of unwelcoming outback? Let the mind wander where it may, I say. Going walkabout doesn't seem like such a bad idea at times.
