Coincidences don't Exist

Coincidences don't Exist

A Poem by John Byrd

No Fear. Full Trust.
Her eyes are what he loved.

Sometimes green.
Sometimes blue.
But they never made me blue.

They were green to remind me
How she treated me like an emerald.
As if I were her king and her my queen.
Both serving each other out of love.
Pure unselfish
Humble love.

Then they would turn blue to remind me
How she calmed me down.
Blue is the color of the seas.
All my pain pooled into her seas.
I am at ease and comforted
I know everything is going to be okay
Because of her.

Coincidences don't really exist.
We just have to find the reasons
For every event.

I think I found the reason why.
They change to remind me of
The spell she has on my heart.
Something no one else could cast
And more absolute than any other.

Love heals and reminds us always to cast the spell of reasons upon fate. Excellent...:).................

A very beautiful declaration of healing love, almost sacred in it's imagery.

Thanks for the encouragement
"Coincidences dont really exist" is quite a profound statement. I tend to ascribe to such a theory, although the implications are huge regarding making our own chances, either consciously or subconsciously, along with predetermination. But that's way too heavy to expound upon. Your poem is a tale of love, told in delicate verse and reads fresh from the heart. NIce write :)

Thank you!
The line, "she calmed be down" stood out because it doesn't make sense, it should be me not be. Also the line, "or royalty" I think should be removed. It doesn't fit in and the line before that is good enough with out it. I'd change the last verse to something like...

"I think I found the reason why,
They change to remind me of,
The spell she has upon my heart,
It's something no other could posses,
And more real than any other"

It's just a suggestion to make the words flow better, hope I was able to help.
