Author's Note

Pete
“Let us settle ourselves, and work and wedge our feet downwards through the mud and slush of opinion and tradition, and pride and prejudice, appearance and delusion, through the alluvium which covers the globe, through poetry and philosophy and religion, through church and state, through Paris and London, through New York and Boston and Concord, till we come to a hard bottom that rocks in place which we can call reality and say, "This is and no mistake.” - Thoreau

To see through the veil, whatever veil, be it reality - spirituality - Maya and so forth, one must open the true eye - third eye to be the real self. Kind of ritualistic this piece, I like it a lot Pete - it opens portals, true reality can only be felt I think, not always seen and if it can be seen then the scales of the old must fall in order to grow into the sight...awesome poem :)

I so like the dark and strangely profound poetry. Especially the kind that stuns the mind. Job well done Pete this was a fun read.
