Almsgiver

Almsgiver

A Poem by Pete
"

There is only one path to heaven. On earth, we call it love. - Thoreau

"
Giovanni Bellini / Angels making music - Giovanni Bellini as art print or hand painted oil.

fingers flying
lies dying
demons crying
forget yesterday
don't worry about tomorrow
mustn't even fret today
dancing in the clouds, as sweet music kneels to pray
trusting a truehearted syncopation to know the way
fashioning a precious, harmonious eternity out of mere hardened clay

turn up the volume
crank up the heat
kiss me my love
hug me my sweet
lead me where you will
'pon heaven's golden, liquid street
a treacly, blessed, divine retreat

yes
that is where we shall meet
where angels separate chaff from wheat
at long last complete
hell will freeze over and shiver
faith will deliver
both up and downriver
for euphony's diligent, harmonious, dancing, mellisonant almsgiver

Author's Note

Pete
"A thrumming of piano-strings beyond the gardens and through the elms. At length the melody steals into my being. I know not when it began to occupy me. By some fortunate coincidence of thought or circumstance I am attuned to the universe, I am fitted to hear, my being moves in a sphere of melody, my fancy and imagination are excited to an inconceivable degree. This is no longer the dull earth on which I stood." - Thoreu

All we need is love and of course music. When I read your lines Pete I heard the tinkling of the ivories playing a beautiful harmonious melody. I particularly enjoyed reading and pondering on your second stanza. Some great lines in this piece. Have a great Tuesday.

If we just believe and let things play out, they will be okay.

We do fret so much about tomorrow that we just skip all the good emotions we could feel today.
We need as the Grassroots sang "let's live for today."

A piano plays gently like the Wind through the Arms of Heavens clouds… the strings of a Violin accompany with Sweet Soprano… as though the Thunder rolls and Seagulls float endlessly above the Waves of Eternity. tenderly, Pat
