I know you love music Pete so not surprised to find you with a sax, jamming away so that your listeners will be ecstatic....you might even play in the park with other musicians...my son plays the guitar and jams with friends; he plays well, but can't sing worth a damn!!! music is a definite pleasure to listen to and to play

the flute is an instrument for deep thinkers, artists in every sense of the word. as a teen i loved ian anderson and jethro tull and still listen to this day. thoreau also played the flute. thank you for the excellent share. music is a beautiful thing that touches the soul and brings people together.

Great quote, Pete! Yes, music is an amazing thing! Never quite understand how some peeps can't listen to it for even a minute! But, of course, to each his or her own. I went to something very different recently, a Canadian folk band called Rum Ragged. Five of us and many others could hardly sit still - great tunes, great musicianship and fun all the way through.
Some fine moral lyrics in a few of the songs.. something for everyone in the ecstatic audience. two weeks time a local festival of classical music, will book a couple of offerings, perhaps more. Rodrigo's Concierto de Arunjuez will be played one evening. Will be therefor my mood music - cheers me when down, calms me when hyper! Bring it all on, yes?

One of my favorite instruments is tenor sax, so many great songs I can think of that have memorable saxophone solos from Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street to Bob Seger's Old Time Rock and Roll and Billy Joel's Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. And I love anything the Allman Brothers played. I'll grab my guitar and meet you on the corner. :)

I saw Greg Allman solo and with the brothers. I played their music for years in a band. Met Butch Trucks in the lone star cafe in NYC.

very cool how you played their music. saw them at least once, maybe twice. greg was a gifted songwriter and musician. dickey betts just passed away in april. they made some amazing music for sure. thanks for the great share relic.
