Constant

Constant

A Poem by racheljaneface

You awaken my soul.

The darkest parts of you are the parts that fire up my heart.

The parts of yourself that scare you,

Grant me security.

You are a light of my life,

And although I do not know what the future holds,

I dream that you are there.

Life tells me that you are supposed to be there,

Every time a new page starts.

My mother taught me that your heart is more than just a muscle.

She taught me that your heart defines who you are and you should protect it,

with every part of you.

You protect it and break it all at the same time,

Forming it into something new,

Trying to make the pieces fit together somehow.

You are the missing chapters to my unfinished book,

You are the one, who is supposed to stay after every tear,

You are my constant.
