A Poem by rachielle

I need some solitary space

To clear this useless mind-

Some new place

Nobody else can find.

I wanna drive so far away

That no one can reach me

In any way-

Especially not my family.

They need to give me some time

To be alone,

Have some peace of mind;

And maybe, find a reason to love home.

Home is but a place

Without difference from a house;

It is merely a space

To breed a newborn spouse.

It does not provide comfort,

Make you escape from trouble,

Or help you relax in any sort;

It just makes everything double!

If there is one place to hate

It is my so-called home.

There’s not even a piece of love on my plate

In this echoing, concrete dome.

absolutely L.O.V.E.D. that stanza.

This poem is one I can relate to... luckily for me.. when things get too hard at home.. my grandparents' house is close by... so i go there for a while..
everyone need's a place to escape to once in a while.. i truly loved this poem.

I love how you conclude this poem.
Great inner turmoil in such cleverly-chosen words.
I adore how the persona talks of a lot of "shoulds" yet only to herself in solitary existentialism:
thus nothing will happen.
Sad.

Keep writing Rach,
Punishment
