It's Not My Home

It's Not My Home

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

The poet laments on the shameful state the entire mankind has reached.

"

Utter an utmost shriek my heart
So loud for the deaf world to hear
So it may ponder over the broken love
Carrying pain too hard to bear.

Tattered and shattered this world stands,
The love for mankind is a far cry.
O Clarion! Reverberate your rebellious roar,
That may insist any man to try.

Why this insipid world enjoys the profound sleep,
when some rascals ravish her chastity?
Why this withered world do not shed tears,
when some scoundrels debauch the humanity?
Why this unmoved world still lays in the stupor,
when some knaves knit masses in their cruelty?

Man talks of justice and peace
And flogs his wife with barbarity!
Is this savage civilization of the Earth
should be termed as the 'Reverend Humanity'?

Full of horror, full of terror,
Full of disgraceful bestiality.
If this world is filled with all these,
Sorry, It's not my home, dear humanity!

*****

There's an immense need for a concealed revelation,
That should preach this dreary world,
The very lesson of devotion to women interests
And then the flag of serenity will be unfurled.

*****

A powerful message that needs to be heeded. We need to tell the politicians not to divide us and rule putting special interests in the place of humanity. Power grabbing, corporate greed and multi agendas are clashing all over. Thank you for sharing.

Being a woman, I should say that your writings are quite feminist and I am totally agreed that women are not the puppets or toys of men in the society. They have their own respective rights which should not be denied.
Now, about your poem, the account of rape and infanticide in your work is very poignant. If I were in their places, I would just die. The rhymes you used and the pink colour- women's colour- are lovely.
The question you posed before the whole world will make everyone speechless. It is not called as humanitarian world if they just reject the fair gender of this Earth. We need poets like you to help us to bring our agony and issues before this world. A wonderful read. Looking for more of your work.

The poem is providing a true bitter message which though is known to all yet no one proceeds to eradicate the on-going problem....
Well Written Friend.

Thanks a lot dear Priyanshi!
The epilogue you wrote is the true solution that I too feel...The world is becoming harsh day by day...terrorism, poverty, rape, corruption, unemployment are so grave issues to ponder upon...It's another good poem of yours.

Thank you for your good words.
Rape and Domestic Violence are very prevalent nowadays in the world. They are so shameful for us that really our heart cries that this world is not our home. People are becoming barbarians, feeling less and cruel. I think that this work of yours should be read by everyone in order to open their eyes, full of ignorance, and enter the light of knowledge in them. It is a wonderful read and thank you for sharing such a masterpiece!
