loving someone when it's time to let go

I tried to get you off my mind

but you came in my dreams.

I tried to direct my eyes from you

but you are a magnet, I am a compass.

I tried to train my thoughts to stay with me

but they ran away to your heart with no care.

I tried to do it all, to forget you existed

but my instincts demanded there was someone to love.

I ripped my mind out and my soul of feelings

to get away from you

but turns out,

you are me

and

i am you.

this poem is over a year old so it's a bit outdated with my current situation but it's still a pretty poem.
