Return of the Reaper

Second edition of a visit of the Grim Reaper.

Return of the Reaper

I had just settled down for a good night's sleep

When I felt a presence by the bed near my feet

I knew that I was in for a mind-blowing strain

For the Old Grim Reaper had come to visit again.

The last time I saw him I had one hell of a fright

Although he convinced me that it would be all right

I'd helped repair his Sat-Nav and he was very implicit

He would always appreciate it and never pay me a visit.

I started to panic and yelled "What is it you're after?"

He smiled and chuckled with Grim Reaper laughter

"Please don't worry old friend your time's not expired

You helped me and that is something I've always admired"

I began to calm down for he was not on a mission

He said "Don't you remember? you gave me permission

I would always be welcome as long as I was not reaping

I had to do a collection and saw that you were not sleeping.

My heart settled down The Grim Reaper wasn't after me

Being a friend I asked him "Would you like a cup of tea"

He said You've always struck me as a figure of perfection

Just remember who I am when I come for your collection"

Hi Rod. I love your poem on the thing that most scares others. I see by your words that you are quite laid back when it comes to the topic of death. Death has been a theme that has interested me since I was young. now these days, at seventy six, all the fear has left me, and actually it is quite a fascination to me
I really liked your light hearted poem, my friend....Peter

Gee
The grim fella tried to collect me 30+ years ago but my body out muscled the dump truck that ran over the top of me. Since that day have let very little fuss me to much.
Enjoyed your writing Rod, cheers

Yes, I think it wise to stay on good terms with that reaping fellow. Tea is good and you might consider buying him lunch, too.
