Looking for you among distant woods

Looking for you among distant woods

A Poem by Ru Banerjee
"

yearnings of a young mind..a young soul wistfully longs for a departed friend to come back into her life and with the reunion, make her complete again.

"

Long, long way in the misty green
Endless ramblings of two birdwatching souls/
Rapturous murmurs in far-off corners
Forbidden twitterings on forsaken poles...

....And now, with the drab cup of coffee in my hands
And the silly streak of sunshine gleaming my lap,
The breast still throbs darling!!!
Whip me, whip me, whip me with memories...
I am now a birdwatcher, with no pursuit...
With endless, endless waiting...

Long, long way in the shady woods
In the loneliness of unknown winds, where I clutched
at you...
...and now, in "life" amidst the lifeless
When they tell you the eyes gave up their search,
The tide of the soul knows the other...
The eyes grab hold of he distant woods where I clinged
to you my friend---
The eyes now crave for the distant woods where I lost
you,
MY FRIEND...

...In dark alleys of the mind
Thoughts shiver, drab and destitute.
And now, when flesh is hardened to stone
Where would you search for the queissence of love??
...Restore color to filthy hands
That had once known radiance....

And how you'd wish, from the cracked earth of
misgivings
May spring up the gift of togetherness
Rooted in bland heads
Heaving in the loneliness of unknown winds...

In childlike submissiveness, in the heavy evenings
In the half-light wandering round the room;
The eyes grab hold of the distant woods
Where I clinged to you, my friend...
The eyes now crave for the distant woods
Where I lost you,
MY FRIEND...

Long four years have gone since you posted the awesome work.
It gives a great stir in the heart.
I wonder,if I had lost such a friend like yours.
Perhaps I lost a very beloved one as you did.
Thanks for sharing the nice piece.:)

What a beautiful writing of such depth in memories and more... You create feelings of reflection, and aching for what was. Visually stunning... So well done!
