Explode

Explode

A Poem by Rachael

A new feeling of regret comes with each exploding heartbeat;
a feeling that you know will not dissipate no matter what.
The feeling that it is no one’s fault but yours

And there is no escaping the explosions.

The pounding never fades and the mind never stops spinning
trying to release the pressure that builds inside every day
Until you hear the last detonation

And there is no escape.

I like how you used strong description to make your point. Each line making the poem stronger and the ending very powerful. Sometime there is no escape except to face the problem. Thank you for a excellent poem.

This overwhelmed me.. perhaps i could relate too well.. Fierce and descriptive, you define intimately a mind that is spinning too fast...

Troubling considerations...the claustrophobic thoughts of entrapment...with no easy way out.

Nicely done...

It is amazing how powerfully our mind affects our heart. Sometimes it does feel like its going to pump right out of our chest.

Very nice writing here, enjoyed it, keep it up.

I like the metaphor with explosions. The overbearing overpressure ripping its way through you. Very good job.

"And there is no escape."
That was an epic end to an equally epic poem. It felt as if it were an explosion itself.

This poem made me want to hold my ribs
to keep myself together. Heartfelt and seriously
thought provoking. There is some level of pain in
the stanzas that lingers in the air like a black cloud.
It would also make a song that would be sure to grab
the listener by the heart.
