Who am I?

Who am I?

A Poem by sarah

I spend countless hours
Trying to figure out my life
I try to figure out who I am
What purpose do I serve?

Am I an artiest?
Am I counselor?
Am I fighter?
Or a lover?

Am I kind?
Or harsh?
Do I love the way I should?
Do I give enough care?
Or too much?

What kind of person am I?
Do people respect me?
Do people look down on me?
Am I smart?
Or dumb?

Are my views wrong?
Or right?
What am I?
Who am I?

I am not bruised
I have had my fair share of pain
And heart break
But no more then everyone else

I may feel broken at times
But I am no where as broken
As some people I know are

I watch the birds fly in the sky
I watch the pink sky's slowly pass me by
I let myself take moments to find joy
In the beauty that surrounds me

But everything around me has a purpose
Has a reason for being there
But what I can't understand
What's my purpose?

I love the flow of this. All valid questions to o. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Glad you are not broken. Good to here there are still those who aren't. You'll figure it out, and you will make choices that will answer these questions for you in time. Choose wisely.

The question of one’s life; what’s our purpose. A just line of questioning that leaves the reader nodding relatable motions. Great piece, Sarah, and pleasantly forthcoming in its concept.

Quite a question..well a series of them. Yes, what is life, and why are we here? i guess many of us ask that question. Nicely done.

Gah, I know what you mean! I can't figure out what kind of career I want either. I hope you'll figure it out soon.

PS. I believe it's "artistes."

All of us ask your questions in the poem. I see my children and my grand kids. I know I had a reason to be alive. Each of us will make decisions that will allow us to do good things or bad. If we are lucky we will find reason and purpose at a young age. A excellent poem with good questions.

I'm always wondering who I am and where I'm going. Being a young adult isn't a fun time.

This emotion comes sooner or later to nearly everyone, but few possess the talent to express it so well. You do.
Good luck with your life =D. I'm sure you'll emerge a surer, stronger person from this.
