Doodles/

By Sami Khalil

(Had these feelings of inferiority when I started writing and when my family and friends did not believe in me …)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I felt like a dud!

In my lonely cogitations

Upon my forgotten doodles

Dissevered from evanescent aeries.

I felt tawdry!

In my precious broodings

Upon my cacophonous surmises

Enraptured in fastidious poetic words.

I felt helpless!

In my unheard, unseen inwards

Upon melodious heart-strums

Entrailed in recesses of life’s songs.

I felt traceless!

In my alternate universe

Upon my scalding babblings

Sky lined of exploding recognitions.

I felt a poet...In self-gratitude

When life left him wafting in the breezes

When love left him lapping in the waves

When death left him mourning in past arrears.

Sami, I have been here thrice but I was just trying not to comment because I was not sure how far my words can take me, yet I can't resist myself from not sharing my thoughts about this, so here I am. I can feel you completely. It is truly sad when the people we care too much do not appreciate the only important thing that makes us happy and we know we fully posses. It becomes a battle deep within if we will continue to believe in it, in our capabilities or we just let it go because it does not anyway brings happiness to the ones we love-- that each time we pen we feel the guilt somehow; it feels like needles pricking us in the middle of happiness every time we come up with good poetry...

Well Now I think, they should be proud... Because you wrap up feeling and words so beautifully in one basket..

and Thank to you, even after felling inferior for writing. You didn't stoped.. Else we would have missed the whole 'Sami's' Dictionary taste :)

Writing through personal experience , is like re-living those moments again.. And its one of the best ways to keep our memories alive :)

nice one Doodle-ed Sami :)

Poets often thrive from lack of support, belief.....
which adds to the whole creative artistic writing one can create....

this reflects the emotions so well

great :)

I fully understand your pain in here, it happens at times.

my ma also says you poets are mad and do nothing good, but i see the pride in her eyes when someone praises me though she still mocks at me :) and you know what after seeing my journey in this world of words, my elder bro started writing too and i am his first reader more often than not.

So i believe by now your family must have come to know the genius you are, right :)

Well, your creativity's awesome indeed i must say.... you always write right from the bottom of your heart and convert your own words into a poetric form that show different and meaningful meanings indeed. Again you did an awesome job here and i read your work after a long time, you're reaching out now......you're going really well, so keep it up :) 100/100. beautiful write. Well penned.

I felt traceless!
In my alternate universe

The ultimate desire in life, to be seen by another person, to be recognized is embedded in our DNA. As poets I think we write to connect to another, to communicate who we are. To be heard and seen for who we are is indeed a gift. For you Sami, one well deserved.

When others won't believe in you it's w horrible feeling. But finding the strength to believe in yourself and do it anyways is sort of freeing. Great poem filled with heartfelt emotions.
