Shadow Things/By Sami Khalil

I live in the shadows of life and death…A mystery and suspense Autumn poem…

The Poem:

He inhaled autumn upon gaily trespassing of golden celebrations, awakening urban legends.

To the winds, emboldened by misty silences, burbled the fallen round placed edges and ears.

Maddening were the shadows in slow motions, carting weathered bricks of spying moods.

Notable we darken the eyes, as past legends has inscribed all in the book of the rising fog rolls.

He came to live in the vestiges of scarlet biographies, extending the mysteries of godly anticipations.

Those standing silhouettes, slumbered apart crestfallen souls, flaming true forms; the apocalypses of mortal lethargy.

A formless matter he was, in the cages of captive suns, bonding the chains of free words.

Never he found growth, except in death or rebirth of raving souls,

for positive were the credits when their peace shivered

And negative were the quotes of dreamy killers, who left behind the shadows I am!

You have come a long way of genesis… to the unfiltered judgment.

"to the unfiltered judgment"

i really like that...there is a really haunting quality to this...encompasses all we love about autumn...the turning, halloween with all the restless spirits roaming the earth...

the raving souls...so dark so Poe-like...the dreamy killers die a thousand deaths as the leaves fall.

mystically mournful and mysterious...

Scholarly Sami. I read it aloud so the flavor of autumn spirits could be digested in proper mind. You are a wizard in poetic mastery.

This is darker than anything I've read by you - and has an almost eerie feel which is so creative and unusual about Autumn poetry.
I really like the haunting feel of this line:
Those standing silhouettes, slumbered apart crestfallen souls, flaming true forms; the apocalypses of mortal lethargy.
Your talent never ceases to amaze me Sami. You are an inspiration!

You are a brilliant writer and an inspiration to many writers here. I've noticed a lot of poems (including mine) have a tendency to say what they want in one read, as though all the meaning has fallen through the colander and out the bottom. Your poems hold the reader a while and make them think. Kudos to you for that. Keep up the good work.

This is much darker than I'm used to seeing from you.
I really enjoyed the ideas presented here.
Caught in the shadows of life and death? As though caught in limbo, or purgatory?
Enjoyed it much.

Now that Autumn/Fall is upon us and as each day shortens the shadows gradually lengthen, adding to the mystery and enigma of the new season !

A wonderfully penned poem, brimming with intrigue and surreal atmosphere !

The thought that comes into mind is that of an eerie silence, rather like the calm before the storm. This is haunting throughout; unlike any Autumn poem I have ever read, but the connection to the season is powerful.

Beccy.

Enjoyed this journey you have penned, of a metaphorical serial killer demi god like individual... why do i get a sense that it is someone that originates from within, the dark half of us, the human stain, a thing that has traveled "a long way of genesis... to the unfiltered judgement"... Ego and Id be damned, there are pieces of us that needs no categorized label, embrace and accept when knowing oneself... kudos on this one...

It's like reading bible passages and the daily snopes all rolled together in a darkly percolated collection
manifesting the shades of the season or is that you Sami? :) You pulled out all the stops with this one...you're a wildflower too. :)
