Luna

Luna

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Speaking of romance...The Moon is that silent sailor...

"

Luna………………By Sami Khalil

Speaking of romance…

The Poem:

Speaking of…

That silent sailor

Sailing upon dark notes

Owing its debt to the sun

Beaming in complexions of castaways

Slitting darkness till the last border lines

When the serene wheels of dawn prayers turn.

Speaking of…

The only progeny

To the first virgin mother

Land of eventual wanderings

Fusing waves of textured people

To colors of clay and clod belongings

Where anthems translate patois of flooded stragglers.

Speaking of…

This petticoat companion

That night ferry in the inky sky

Languishing in cardered memories

Of travelers clad in restive seasons

Under the silvery shafts of starry lights

Where the ticking clock on the horizon kindles images.

Speaking of…

Those who are cleaved between the heart and the moon.

This is exquisite. The gentleness of tone and the way the words flow have a timeless, classic feel. This could have been written two hundred years ago by one of the great English Romantics. The last full stanza in particular is absolutely stand out in my opinion.

Beccy.

You are welcome!
It always gets me how you can transform the language into a bridge Sami. It is as if there is an underlaying invitation to awaken, as if gently I get shaken t a wake up of sorts. In this particular wrting the invitation seems to open up, Which is already difficult to do as the world of fear so present nowadays. And invitation to relax that even in those difficult situations you will gain nothing by loosing your mind, to seek for that light that shines, to embrace the silence and peace that may lead to see something that before it wasn't revelaed. Oh dear reflection! Let my hear yearn for that which is unknown to me but through you I may get to feel.

Ephemeral.

Thankyou

A really stunning piece… you're themes are expansive… the themes have a historical ring and a mythical feeling to them. I don't know if it was deliberate, but the visual form lends a climbing, epiphanous feeling to the piece.

Beautiful amalgam of words creating a scenic beauty without even venturing into nature. Just by introducing us to your imagination so vividly you have achieved another feat like always.

Ah the moon. She is such an inspiration to us writers. I loved that you compared her to a sailor. Always on the horizon, but never quite touching down and slaying. Beautiful work my friend.

this speaks to me of a sailors romance with the moon as the sea being his first love
and gratitude of the moon and sun for his light and the stars as his map

Did you happen to notice the moon just this past week? It was wonderful and your poem captures it's essence so beautifully.
