Luna

Luna

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Speaking of romance...The Moon is that silent sailor...

"

Luna………………By Sami Khalil

Speaking of romance…

The Poem:

Speaking of…

That silent sailor

Sailing upon dark notes

Owing its debt to the sun

Beaming in complexions of castaways

Slitting darkness till the last border lines

When the serene wheels of dawn prayers turn.

Speaking of…

The only progeny

To the first virgin mother

Land of eventual wanderings

Fusing waves of textured people

To colors of clay and clod belongings

Where anthems translate patois of flooded stragglers.

Speaking of…

This petticoat companion

That night ferry in the inky sky

Languishing in cardered memories

Of travelers clad in restive seasons

Under the silvery shafts of starry lights

Where the ticking clock on the horizon kindles images.

Speaking of…

Those who are cleaved between the heart and the moon.

This is exquisite. The gentleness of tone and the way the words flow have a timeless, classic feel. This could have been written two hundred years ago by one of the great English Romantics. The last full stanza in particular is absolutely stand out in my opinion.

Beccy.

The first thing that a poem should offer is visual beauty. This one looks extremely appealing even at the first glance! :))
The imagery is perfect, so is the sailor metaphor for our lovely luminous moon. This is hauntingly beautiful. My favourite lines would be
"Fusing waves of textured people
To colors of clay and clod belongings"
Your poems are hard to forget, Sami sir!

This poetry reads like rocking in a ship within the comfort of a quiet bay.
I like the line about the moon being a ferry boat...
Very lovely imagery here Sami.

The last line has the greatest punch as it has the most connection to the real world of love, great imagination, smooth flow of lines, the poem and picture collage so evenly, still I think your masterpiece is Arcana and similar poetry, fresca and luna were great too just individual objectine observation, can be wrong

Your words are so beautiful and fills the reader with awe. Love the last stanza and the ending. If the picture wasn't there it wouldn't matter, because your words have painted a piece of art for all readers to see!
