The Lonely Fountain

The Lonely Fountain

Lost in my thoughts...

The Lonely Fountain            by Sami Khalil

Sitting on a wooden bench,

absent-minded, sulking at life,

images rose without a will;

heavy-eyelid phoenixes upsurged through amnesia.

I spied a lonely fountain, coiffed three-tiered elevator,

bathing in her statuesque beauty, accosting a plethora of

sparkling repartees; wild-haired waters, dropping recycled

dreams, voguish in their times.

Smidgen of senses came back to me, shadowing

my quintessence in an orchestration of awakenings,

fronting the dual ties, acting with temerity.

Feeling like a surplussed homeless,

I tossed few coins as she asked me to dance.

Hehehe! You are right. Muchly welcome.
Fountains have their own special appeal, both visually and on the ear. I love the imagery you have invented in this poetic piece: "wild-haired waters, dropping recycled dreams" is very appealing, and "I tossed few coins as she asked me to dance" is delightful! Good one Sami!

I love the opening lines because we've all been there. Moping in a desperate funk seeking change. It's the simple things in life that can put us in a trance. The sound of water can make me rest easy. Great work Sami. A pleasure to read.

:)...........................
There is a peacefulness exhibited in this piece that gives life to a fountain and its song. I was taken by this mesmeric poem which eased a bit of my troubled thoughts. Sometimes we just need to stop in the process of living to feel life itself around us in order to find our catharsis within peace. Thank you my friend for sharing your art with us.

I have never been able to sit and watch a fountain percolate or spring into glorious action without dropping a few coins and making a wish. Fountains are magical, just listen to their music. Wonderful poem which lifts my spirits today. Lovely work Sami and thank you for the images too
