Ingmar Bergman I

Ingmar Bergman I

A Poem by Samuel Pennell

Dark, liquid emptiness
flows through the veins
of his films

It floods through
their glass bloodstream,
reaches out into their fingertips, and blossoms,

like a dark and evil flower in springtime

This was great Samuel. A perfect description of a legend. The darkness drips from your words, while the admiration peeks out from between the lines

Short and powerful. "like a dark and evil flower in springtime" - such a wonderful metaphor. The images you create with your writing are so vivid. An outstanding poem.
