50A Poem by Andy ScotsonWhen my dad was 50 he owned a big white house. He had 2 children and a wife and a car and a college were he lectured. He had written 2 books , worked with professors and been published in many languages. He was a stalwart of the church with an unshakeable faith in God and a certainty of the future. Now I am 50 and I still wear the jeans I wore at 18. I listen to music I work in a warehouse, I have a wife who hates me and we have no one. I live from pay cheque to pay cheque and my car is older by the day. We live in a rented house on a monthly contract I juggle debits and credits and I fail. I am 50 but I am a child . When do we grow up when when
