A mask Unworn

A mask Unworn

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

A mask of beauty lays upon the desk

For it has not yet been applied

Sat at the mirror the reflection is a blur

Tears cease on their departure

Told of only ones beauty

She is not that one

Hidden and forgotten

Keys longed for

Unlocking of the door is not so

the mask of beauty sits untouched

smudged and rained on

Beauty fades

from color to grey and white

Shattered is the mask

lays upon the floor

broken and  never worn

A piece on Aging?? A person unloved, uncared, unwanted.. I like the metaphorical lines, the angst and the pain in this one. Its amazing how you keep writing so many and yet keep doing good !! Great job !!
