Miss Misery

Miss Misery

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Thanks a lot Foo Fighrers

"

Miss Misery please don’t

Bring me down, at least right now

Could you find it in your heart

Just to wait awhile longer

Until the rain stops from falling down

Why won’t you just let me see

That sunshine smile

But you insist on hiding behind

Every single cloud

Won’t look up into anyone’s skies

And carousel your life

Keeps on spinning ‘round and round

Yet, I look right through you and

Your every day disguise

Yourself, stop running away

My muse in confuse the lies

Miss Misery although you sing

The blues in everything you do

I can’t help myself;

I’m still falling in love with you

But, I refuse to take a drag

Upon my only Achilles nicotine

Please, don’t bring me down

Anyways just not right now

Let’s wait awhile until

I am so totally into you that I can’t change

I’m not ready to live in shelter

Of such complicated rain

I need to feel warmth and to walk the line

Miss Misery… Please? Perhaps before we start

You can let me go

Aw, the Foo Fighters are a cool band I heard a few of their songs and liked them. I find that Miss Misery (your poem) speaks about something or someone who we have met or experienced. The way the poem gives misery a human identity is interesting and was described in such a personal way that was effective. This seems like something that was thought about and I like that. Theres a lot of sincere feeling. Thanks for sharing. :)

Poor Miss Misery and her man, it's perhaps only cause and effect though. :)

Hey I haven't read your work in a while! But I didn't forget how wonderful it is, amazing as always :) I'm very happy with this piece for a lot of reasons, one being I can definitely relate to this. And I loved a lot of lines. 1. : "And your life like a carousel". I never thought of it that way but that's perfect. Another part I liked was: "Why won’t you just let me see that sunshine smile But you insist on hiding behind every single cloud" Great thinking/ writing!

Thanks Pushkar.
Yes I have had my own stint with many Damsels in distress. They are mostly attention seekers creating a web of lie. But that is not a man of worth would like to get involved into.
