Box Of Hearts~

Box Of Hearts~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

Eros dreamed himself a perfect sheath of moon skin

from night’s shell

a blood diamond box in his hand

between the dew pearls of me and the lavender of satin sheets

he carved himself a place against my thigh

whispering

“open it”

Inside

four chocolate hearts

fluid

dusted with coveted images entwined

in sugared glaze

he smiled

“eat them”

One

a birth against my mouth

in raspberry cream

Oshun in girl body

pouring tea

her storm colored eyes

tapped into

the covetous gaze

of the inherent

raw male;

in time I learned to use it to my advantage

Two

a  stroke of lies

in butter cream

Achtland a subtle pressure

in lime strobes

lines of bodies

undulations

downpour into giving shape

giving fluid

taking moist mind between layers of seduction;

it was instinctive feed for a  cultivated fetish charm like me

Three

snake curves

in apricot brandy

Nebt Het winding arms

a temple arch back

into his wine eyes

sinuous solo

in and out

between his thighs

her scales the sound of creation;

I found my allure in the way they worshipped at my hips

Four

jeweled lips

white dove in cherry liquor

Peitho with honeysuckle oration

a Bushido gripped in her fist

come into her own

bleeding seduction in ink

heroine on a journey

a girl rescued from herself at her side

men scattered at dainty feet;

I have learned to rock myself, to be my own redeemer, to revere my feral heart

~Eros left a note at dawn for the woman curled in a cat’s cradle

a box filled with rubies

on her nightstand

her arrow in his heart~

In each Candy we see a God.............God of love,of beauty, and with the sensual flow I was drooling, in each chocolate a discovery, and this for me says so much....

heroine on a journey
a girl rescued from herself at her side
men scattered at dainty feet;
I have learned to rock myself, to be my own redeemer, to revere my feral heart

We all take many journeys in life.........but few write as you do, with a story in a story.

I give up. Listen, this is way too much, Ms. Selene. Do you know what it reminds me of? The very first time I picked up a fantasy novel. It was a book called "The Elfstones of Shannara" (Terry Brooks). I quite literally fell in...something or the other... Though I learned, to my dismay, I was reading out of order, this charmed feeling stayed with me. I remember well. I remember every single time I notice a single blade of grass, flower petal, or lone butterfly turned slave to the wind. It is...untainted, shameless delight... I am...perpetually enamored. Since the first time I found that feeling, I’ve sought it in everything I’ve listened to, and everything I’ve read. You, goddess, have stirred this feeling. For that, I am grateful.
I can’t say enough to relate to you how absolute is my pleasure at reading your work. This piece here, imbued with mythology as it is, is a mystery to me… Not in the sense that it’s not easily understood (and I’ll admit, it’s not easily understood), but in the sense that it is something that should be known to all, and yet not… I’m not sure exactly how to express what I am thinking… Needless to say, I very much enjoyed reading your “Box of Hearts”. It is beautiful as the paradise I dream of. I did get stuck on the word “Bushido”. That word distracted me, for it brings forth images of the Samurai of Japan’s feudal age, and inspires, for some odd reason, thought on Miyamoto Musashi. Just a weird distraction, and somehow, a surprisingly welcome one.
The Voice in your work is awe-inspiring to core of our being. Admirable. Very, very, VERY great work, Ms. Selene. My fault if none of this makes sense... I feel what I'm thinking, but can't ever seem to relay it clearly as I'd like.

Eros touch is felt here

Breathless~

How does one comment on this poetry, no, this remnant of the writer's soul that lingers within a beautiful dark edged sensuality layered in bites of myth, enchanting independence, power, and the feminine persuasion?

One can remark that it must be the heart, the art of VictoriaSelene Skye Deme who sketches the softness within the steel like no other writer can, with a mellifluous tongue and a mind captured with a million tales that other wise could never be imagined nor penned.

I love mythology, and Eros here with his chocolates really does a job on me. I love the end, where HER arrow is in HIS heart, not the other way around. Absolute beauty, a story within a poem.

The flow and form is filled with a rich tapestry of passion and depth. This is intricately woven with a mythos that captures the imagination. I only wished there had been more. So well done!

This was elegant, sensual, beautiful, descriptive, and absolutely amazing. I cannot pick what my favorite line was because all of them are absolutely magnificent, and I love the thought behind this.

It's clever, witty, and absolutely great!

Oh Selene,Selene..how elegant was this ..now!!..you have such a way with words,you master your words..and the emotions that they contain too.You write with such eloquence,and sheer elan..
This was beautiful,supreme in structure and composition.There were some stanzas where i did get confused but then that has more to do with my not being able to grasp some meanings.You have a style,Selene which is very distinct and very good.It simply stands out..i liked the setting here and an almost tragic theme not totally so,cause you iced it with chocolate :)
