Let's Fall Again And Trip A Myth~

  I

Floating woman draped in spider silk

Spinning in her delicate cocoon

Cotton spores twisting in hair

Tree bark nails clinging to leaves

She floats on the wind;

Between the pursed lips of a selfish child

A gasp, a wish

Pollen twists in mid air

Above

Marble landscapes

Fractured by the light

Of red rimmed eyes

Which fluttered with the shiver

Of a butterfly

Pinned to velvet

                II

Gossamer morning

Wrapped its rays across the shoulders

Of a naked man

Who’d forgotten it was not a social norm

To play piano

Under the lights of a city in motion

A blur of skin, he

Ignored

As the hive stretched its lips

Toward lattes

And rubbed magik from its eyes

As he stumbled across dandelion girl

Wrapped in a bed of feathered seeds

She spoke thusly

"Your mind is a maze

Little mouse.

Let us play chess

And I will move the models in a fashion no catwalk has ever seen."

Twisting lego men and string women into better position

He carried her to the table

Her arms bent

Back cracked

Around a golden walnut

Legs stretched

Bubble wrapped heart popping in growth

Spoils of invisible misogyny

Played on his black and white keys

                III

He organizes the latticeworks of her originality

Into concrete structures

With a thousand pills

Scattered on the shores

Stitching shells of restructured human consciousness

To her arms

Pop them

Drop them

A marionette

With pretty lavender contacts

Puppet on a silk tie

Hung across the rail

Of a high-rise

Leather shoe shuffle

Another jumper

On the side

                IV

Indigo plateaus on dream charts

She traces the line along his spine

Her bottleneck fingers strumming tunes on his;

Hands entwined under raindrop skies

Golden gate ribs tangled

Hearts fused around apple cores

And snakeskin flakes

Dante’s inferno reflected in eyes

Bleeding snake

Leaking ink on eden tales

His dark dancer, her ink danger

Poison ink coating her onyx lips

In shades of lust

"Would you like a bite of my red apple

One more time?"

She teased,

But warned him not to touch

For her walls were made of paper and petals

But some need to shatter

To reassemble

Stitch by stitch

Bone by bone

Myth by myth...

"Let's fall again"

Hello,

This was a n excellent collaboration. It was crafted well, flowed beautifully, and I do enjoy how you did in fact modernize the fall, as it....to me....seemed mutual. It takes two to decided to sin together, a partnership if you will. Beautifully written and maybe...just maybe inspired by God.

Food for thought.

Always,

Matthew

The revamping of the biblical tale couldn't have been mythologized any better for today's audience. This poem is a treasure, hidden objects are everywhere.
I'm so jealous. (:

Well I must say, you two went above and beyond any mentally or physical
restraints on writing a elegant sensually charged poem that seduces the mind
brilliantly! Well done Selene and O.T.
