Girl~

Girl~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I am not small

but I could fit into the center of your universe

if you are reaching for me

with a uncluttered mind

I am very good at going

unnoticed

in a crowded room

as long as I am a lady

with eyes on the patterns of the flooring

a girl braced

against whispering souls

with downcast demeanor

but sometimes I forget to be invisible

and my damaged soul

peeks through a flutter of black eyelashes

killing everything with these accursed

these loved

jade things

When I was two

Pan plucked my blue eyes from their sockets

and placed them in a field of violets

where the butterflies hovered for a taste of tears

and from his pocket he took a box

of velvet linings

encasing Pandora's eyes

I am invisible

until I open my eyes . . . .

Some muse you have, to be given such eyes be they violet or Jasmine or the green of Jade, men will no doubt die in those eyes, drowning in them to a womans delight

Such a vivid imagination you have, and unique to the ninth degree, you continue to amaze with your skill......never stop, not even when I'm gone :O)

And we can be alone in a crowded room, it seems.....the eyes holds keys, secrets and jewels....rarely are our thoughts seen until they are open! Selene, my sweet, you always leave me wanting more! xx

I liked the progression of the poem, the unfurling of a story of quiet girl amidst a loud world. Just one note, I wish the ending had been a little less abrupt, but that's just my opinion. I feel that from the beauty of the stanza above it (I loved these lines: Pan plucked my blue eyes from their sockets/and placed them in a field of violets/where the butterflies hovered for a taste of tears.), it felt a little cut short. But, mostly, a lovely lonely little read.

Your ability to transform light to dark and heavy is astounding. Those eyes that can draw you in, and so easily butterfly flutter to the next victim, those are the eyes I fear most. Awesome imagery and usage of metaphor…

Great Write!

you are completely noticed, whether you want it or not...eyes closed or open like jade fire...it should be as thus

Stunnly beautiful with a anguish of uniqueness for the character, girl. Reveals what some may consider the personality of a girl, lady, or woman. Bravo.
