Predator Echoes~

Predator Echoes~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

my killer walks

with a side gait

that announces his wound

I have never seen his eyes

but I know

they are cloud blue

from drinking my smoky jazz life

his mind is like a boombox

killer

sinner

fresh skin

peel each tattoo with the sharpest wit

I know what he wants

a variation

on the victim

today is a fine day

a sunny day

his eyes dream me through layers

of cobalt passion

and evergreen pain

crucify my wings

nail patterns

stretched against the horizon

pressed

into my cherry tree spine

my killer

watches

patience

he would pin me

inside the collection

that bleeds from his mind all over the space

he occupies

his halo filled with struggling girls

dying girls

but this time

he wants something different

a predator like himself

bleeding

her predatory victims

into his temples

killer

killer

his mind is a boombox

I wonder

what sounds

enter him

from within my own skull

Don't play too hard with fate, Selene. This one is too close to your private hell. It's difficult to read because you've pressed your unique ink into it deeper than you should. Don't encourage the monsters. It won't ever end pretty.

Oh, this is chilling and has that streak of resignation running through it. Reminded me of the short stories of Stephen King, but as much as delving into the realms of the fantastique it also has that raw tone in it. People such as these are best left alone.

This one is a chiller, not just because of the dark nature, but because of the hidden layer of pain just under the surface. It feels like this one got away from you and opened a layer deeper than you usually go. Be careful, pandora's a flighty one. All nice and charming one day, opening her box the next. Problem is, it's a b!tch to get it back closed (trust me I don't like writing the dark ones, they write me, and I live them for days after. I'm still in the midst of a writing induced fugue. Taking a couple day break from the writing to get back into life)

ooo a very dark poem from you - brilliantly descriptive as always - though that's surely nothing new to you haha - you have such a mastery over words and language - and so leave us all jealous!! lol but we get over it by being allowed to explore these little masterpieces - the idea of the shadow almost - wound announced - you don't see but it's there - stalking - waiting for a fall - for his dying girls - sinister ending too "I wonder
what sounds
enter him
from within my own skull" - nice!!!

This side of the pen bleeding the deepest black is so new to me that I don't know what to say. There is a quiver traversing between my shoulder blades that I have not felt before. Such victimizing and malicious intent on all sides of the spectrum, icing my bones to a state of fragility. Scary my dear dovely. Scary indeed.

I think this is one of the most chilling pieces you have written. There is usual such vibrancy and delectable heat to your poetry, but this one feels like frost consuming the heart. Beautifully crafted!

"there's a killer on the road....his brain is squirming like a toad..."

excellent imagery, as always, S, this one made the skin crawl, yet i couldn't stop reading it

Excellent analogy, killer/butterfly collector. Those who pray on others often keep trophies to remind them of the "wrongs they've righted" in their twisted minds. A mind full of cacophony destroying all that lies before it.

The people who've been victimized by predators understand them the best. A chilling, hellish portrayal of the human predator. With your spectacularly you sort of twist, where the prey is also a form of predator. Does your predator prey on the predators? Another poem that's right on target.
