Wishing on a Star, Writing on a Dream

Wishing on a Star, Writing on a Dream

A Poem by shallimarRose

tonight I sit here again

open heart

pen in hand

words flow from my fingertips

written in the blood of my heart

wanting to tell you how I feel

how you have slipped so deep into my soul

my heart

my body

longing for your tender touch

I am clay at your feet

putty in your hands

awaiting your firm grip

molding me

showing me the way

so lost in your eyes

found in your heart

I try to sleep

but sleep does not come easily

because you are there

around every corner I see your face

I hear you laughter in the evening breeze

see the color of your eyes in the morning sky

the moon sets the stage

I find myself in your arms once again

in the grasp of a long slow dance

tightly held by the arms I crave

your breath on my neck so warming

so inviting

i try to turn away

I cannot

you pull me closer

my heart skips a beat

I cannot breathe

thoughts of you

of being in your arms

almost more than I can bare

my body trembles

you pull me closer still

in this moment

nothing can come between us

and I am yours completely

you look into my eyes

and I know

this is as real as it gets

my heart is overwhelmed

my eyes show the signs

in makeup streaks down my cheek

you kiss away my tears

and for an instant

just one instant

I forget you are a dream

Miss ShallimarRose, although you nailed it like no other, I don't appreciate you peering inside my head only to carelessly cast my private, most deepest longings all willie-nillie over the net like this!
LOL! kiddin...well, about the comment at least.
Needless to say, this one is perfection!

This is beautiful Rose -- This is quite sultry, my friend. I wish some of my dreams would be real..... maybe we if we wish enough it will, like in Harry Potter? LOL.

Lovely job.

Thank you Rose.
There is romance here...bittersweet, tragic, beautiful romance. I love the idea that the person is "just a dream" in the end, because it leaves me wondering if it is a "dream" or a "memory" that has become a dream. Something to ponder...which I love. Beautiful imagery, great texture and movement.

The beginning had me...because I have been there so many times before; sitting, trying to write what I feel and express something aptly enough to do justice to the subject matter. Beautiful.

Thank you Sarah for taking time out to read and review.. xo Rose
A romantic and bittersweet poem; such a love in a dream makes one yearn for the reality... Well penned!

Again I thank you Rita.. A pleasure to have you comment on my writing.. xo Rose
You know very well this one would reach deep into my romantic heart. This is so sultry and beautiful sweet Rose. Dreams, they seem so real at times, so very real that we find ourselves satisfied to never wake again, if that were up to us. Intoxicating dear Rose.
