You, Me & our Maple TreeA Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)I sat under a maple tree, Trying to write a poem Setting my mind free, Jotted down a few words, Suddenly they wiggled and juggled Rising high in air like birds. ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ I looked up in awe, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Looking at the words in the air, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Couldn’t believe in what I saw, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ They fluttered around my head, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Making teeny weeny moves, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Then ordered like beads in a thread. Fast and smooth they went, Carrying my thoughts to you, Like the messenger I’ve sent, I attached a loving kiss to its tail, Sending my love to you, To reach you, zoom they'll sail. ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Even the words knew how much I miss you, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ It flew up and high, into the fluffy clouds, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ This kind of longing for you isn’t new, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ A maple leaf came swooping down on me, ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Then I realized that the words still lay here ♡♥ ♡♥ ♡♥ Only after the leaf fell on my knee. This tree has lots of memories to remind, Fresh among it was the last time we kissed, It always gave shade like a friend so kind, Now am sitting alone, wishing that you were here, To accompany me and this friendly tree, Come back soon to talk, laugh and cheer. *********************************************************** Awards / Badges won: Longing For Love ~ Silver Star Jul 24, 2010Roses Are Red Award Aug 15, 2010Best Romantic Comedy Jun 12, 2011© 2011 Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)
