Death's Lullaby

Death's Lullaby

A Poem by Niya Moon

Death,

She sings a lullaby,

Each night as I dream,

Whispers a whisper,

That speaks my name.

Her voice so soft

and sweet,

Calls me down that

road of eternal sleep.

Silent as the grave

She waits to strike,

Leaving Grief,

and Agony

in her wake.

Sympathy,

She feels not,

She takes what she wants,

And keeps what shes got.

Her eyes are black

like a moonless sky,

Her lips are poison like

a cobra’s bite.

Be warned all who

seek her,

For as inviting as

Her arms may seem,

She only comes to bring

Pain and Misery.

Love the intensity and darkness of this piece... seriously a very Poe like poem and that is a big compliment cause he is one of my favorite writers... nicely done.
