driven by impulse, we wander, from time to time, from place to place. from india to paris, from china to spain, we are citizens of the planet.
you’ll never catch us, O Wind, we have wings, we have each other, we have the sweet tangerine dreams of how we’d like things to be, how we wish they are, and the most delicious, how they are. [and how we never dared to dream it would be. how it is.]
you’ll never sink us, O Sea, we have the promise that ‘everything will be alright’ we have the protection of knowing that our love’s a sturdy ship, and that your waves can’t reach us. [but even if you do, this captain’s going down with the ship.]
you’ll never touch us, O Fear, whispers of failure won’t deter us, we’re going somewhere where you can’t reach us, into a life of brisk Parisian mornings, and sultry Indian nights. we’ll dine with czars and sultans, with kings and queens, you won’t stop us. [you can’t stop us.]
you shelter us, O Nature, humid nights under umbrellas of green, the meperidine of holding her in my arms, the analgesia of her kiss as sleep catches our falling forms and lays us gently down, they more than make up for the bed of moss.
you protect us, O Sky, you watch us where we go, in a delirium of passion and the exquisite taste of obsession, before the stars sedate us, and we spend the rest of the night in each other’s arms.
you guide us, O Star, we follow your lead, wandering through Orient and culture. we are subject to your mischievous ways, but still we follow, the taste of vanilla on our lips, and music in our ears, for this is our love.
wow this was just fantastic. this was really, really sweet. the fact that you keep writing "O star, O nature" and so on really makes this great to me, as that really gives this the feeling of prayer, and that you're praying that you both will never be apart, and that everything will be fine for the two of you. awesome
I love this one too. Man your writing is like a hidden little gift. This one reminds me a lot of Walt Whitman. Your meaning is there but the poetic flow is amazing.
I'm really quite taken with this and it's certainly not crap. The way you address each of the forces that surround or assail, really adds to my immersion in the piece. Liking the use of the brackets, additional thoughts, afterthoughts, clarificiation. It's like...Being in someone's head, or immersed in a mantra.
Hello, my name is William and I'm a write-aholic.
My first poem ever was written in January 2009, so I'm still pretty rough. Nothing is perfect, but I'm addicted to writing, and I do enjoy doing it.. more..
