Brood of Vipers...

Brood of Vipers...

A Poem by Sophy Freebirds
"

Fact and fiction interwoven by this breed

"
Masked in sober expression..
Following the anti- social etiquette..
Brood of vipers,flooding their ...
Venom in the social banquet...

Sprinkly the truth with fiction's salt
Blending it with envious twisted knot..
Serving it with mouth- watering temptation..
The foolish ravish it, serving knave's intentions...

Just follow the universal rule..
Throw crumbs of food to the jealous fools..
Famished they will sate their rotten souls..

When you will reach your desired goal
They will appease you with their wagging tails..
Retriving their brains,when they fail....

Venom in the social banquet... Yes, that pretty much sums it up Sophy...I wish this piece did not remind me of the current state of the site as much as it does, but to me it feels very much like where this place is at these days...your imagery as always is lacerating...your poetic voice is one of unequivocal conviction...you just know how to get right to the heart of the matter, and stay there...the first two lines actually sound a bit like me, reluctant as I am to admit it...I only wish my sober expression was a mask, but that's another story haha Another winner my friend :)

I really don't like people who spread rumours myself. One of the reasons I wrote my poem "Experience The Teacher" is because I wanted to bring out the fact that, when someone tells you a tale, whether it is about someone or something, you need to check out the truth behind it before you go on believing and telling the tale yourself. If you do believe it without actually seeking out the truth and you spread as the truth, you may find that you have ruined someone by something that is not even true. Thanks for sharing this and calling out the rumour bearers. Awesome work

Lol so do I Sophie.I can't for the life of me see how spreading rumors and backstabbing people and being thrilled at someone's misfortune could ever be good or fun. These people need to get a life as far as I see.You penned this so well girl :)

I shun 'em.. thank you so much dear :)
Wow Sophy! I love how magnificently dark this one is. People who gossip and spread rumors do so as defense, so that people won't do it to them first. They are just scared little children that have to bring others down to feel validated. Very thought provoking and really well said my dear!

O yea it is ,the trash talk. Thank you Marie :)
Tell em what they want to hear, appease them till your advantage and then drop them like a stone, for society is immersed in people of fickle and insincere character !

Yes indeed Sophy a fine sage like poetic proviso, full of worldly wise counsel!100

Thank you Eve.. :)
The poem instantly reminds me of another poem called "IF" by Rudyard Kipling..... "If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken/Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools..." But sometimes it is difficult to bear the rumor.... I just liked the way u compared rumor with venomous viper ....and the description in the middle as it develops ...

Good work here. I admit I stumbled a bit on "sprinkly" but that's just my American English teacher vibe gearing up for school next week. Another excellent poem.
