CMF Adventure

CMF Adventure

A Poem by StacyPerry
"

A tale of what occurred on our way to and from a gig [CMF 5-29-2010]

"
Traveling to the destination unknown,
We ride in thoughts of nothing but song
As we get closer to that orange cone,
We begin to think that something has gone wrong
Pulling over to make sure all is well,
We exit the vehicle and look to our dismay
This could of been a living hell,
On the travel to the Cleveland Music Festival that day
A tire had failed us in the back left of the van,
Everyone was quick to do their part
Thankfully the ones who knew what had occurred were smart men,
As they fixed up the tire quicker then throwing a dart
We were back on our way to get to the gig,
Arriving before start time
The audience was into the music and then we loaded up the rig,
Who knew things would yet again turn on a dime
As we entered the freeway the right back tire blew,
As all four of us helped to get everything moving yet again on time,
We all helped move things around and the men did what they needed to do
We were off once more with a stroke of luck,
All of us hoping to make it to the gas station for tire air
All that was thought was "what the f*ck"??
As we exited into my old neighborhood without another care
The air was put in and the tires rechecked,
We got back on the freeway with a little worry
We got ourselves into a groove of having fun and nothing more direct,
The two back donuts were holding steady
As we got to the exit where I was to go home,
Everything seemed all well and good
I was glad to get the text that my friends were safely arriving after their further roam,
They had gotten back to there houses without something wrong as it of course it could
The entire evening of the 2010 CMF gig,
The one I had gotten them to play
It may have not been that big,
BUT at least our adventure and show was well rounded out for that day.

Doesn't life always go that way? You could drive around on a bald tire for a million miles with no particular place to go, but when you definately have to be somewhere, there she blows! Sounds like it all worked out in the end and the trip was not boring for sure. A well written and entertaining piece!

A very good story. I'm glad all had fun and you made the round trip home safely. It seem things go wrong when you decide to wander off away from home. Thank you for the story. I best it was a good time.
