Into The Ground

Into The Ground

A Poem by Starr Alexis

Many do not know why I followed the white rabbit.

Wandering off is quite a habit.
However, that is not why.
Following him took me into the ground
before the world drove me there.
I didn't even bother with a goodbye,
just went under.
Now, the world's literally on my shoulders,
but I don't feel a thing.
I'm the type of lost and found that never gets found.
When I traveled under I was stripped bare,
stripped of the burdens, the memories, the agony.
Me following the white rabbit was not a tragedy.
I found my friends who also became lost.
We were surrounded by madness,
and we were happy.

We finally belonged.
I went from nothing to something.
I went from dead to living.
