Your Smile at Day's End

Your Smile at Day's End

A Poem by S. R. Morris

The most beautiful thing,
The most beautiful thing in the world,
The most beautiful thing in the world to me
Is not the light reflected in sunset clouds.
It's not the playful sound of a happy babe.
It's the smile that I saw,
It's the smile that I saw on your face,
It's the smile that I saw on your face last night.

How can I express,
How can I express what I felt,
How can I express what I felt when I saw that smile?
I was contented, like watching a peaceful sunset.
My soul played a song, like a lullaby, to my heart.
Your smile at day's end,
Your smile at day's end is the best,
Your smile at day's end is the best the world can offer.
