The Messenger

The Messenger

A Poem by Joanna Maharis
"

The Messenger

"

The message is clear for this ever flowing need

to drink up the earth's waters, and allow

them to caress my silky soul

with their lavender hands and the sun's kiss,

letting the rays burn through my flesh.

I tower over many mountains adorned

with heavenly bliss of the shivering core

of your spirit.

Frothy minds arouse those dismayed

by the fires that roar into this hallow brigade.

Your heart is filled with tiny red spots

left from the thorns of they who commanded

your shouting tomb to devour your icing

and lift up the veil of the shimmering light

the diamond did surrender unto his humbled messenger.

Your heart is filled with tiny red spots

left from the thorns of they who commanded

I found this specific line so intriguing. Not sure why.

I wonder if the word "adorn" (sixth line from the top) should not perhaps be "adorned" and the word "let" (fourth line from the bottom) should not be "left"? I feel religious inspiration from this.
