Unscripted

Unscripted

A Poem by streetrose

The curtains fall to the floor

Once again, she is alone

All have left their scripts and returned to their lives

All but she

She is stuck in a different script

Forced to be in character at all times

All is dark, yet all eyes are upon her

The stage is cold and lonely

Yet still, her breath heats its very core

She looks through the script, sees how dreary it is

Sees how utterly useless its contents are

Impatient, she skips to the last scene

The curtains fall back to the floor

Forever more, she is alone

Her works pronounced a tragedy

And her spirit left to roam
