Lies Exposed

I have seen zombies rise from the dead

and the Mummy return

time and time again.

And on each occasion they

renew the horror

they have wrecked

upon the good peoples of this Earth;

just as you have done.

Yet you feign a plea for forgiveness

for all the evil you

and you alone unleashed

in a plague of putrid hate.

You dragged the innocent into the fires of hell

yet claim yourself an angel of God.

You portray yourself a man of great mercy,

a man of immense fortitude and graciousness,

everybody’s friend.

Yet behind the mask

a terrible scar etched in time

is carved upon your dark foreboding soul.

Behind your devil’s smoke screen

you are still but the serpent.

Oh this was great. I applaud this piece.
Your diction is great and you translated the disgust and loathing any one would feel or experience, being forced to constantly witness the vivid lies some skillfully make an occupation of disguising, brilliantly.
I can already guess at who this one's aimed at (#wink), but yet it fitly describes many an individual in our modern world; a world which all but glorifies evil and yet seeks to disguise it to the extreme.

As always vivid images although the mixture of movie horror and bible was a bit jarring for me. The line about a scar carved upon the soul was a fresh and exciting one.

If you have seen zombies rise from the dead, it was probably my mother-in-law...
so jokes aside, a very hard, tough poem, not sure if you mean the devil or a real person.
(I think the Devil often gets a bad press, he was in fact God`s favorite angel - I had to read Paradise Lost many years ago). A good poem, full of bitterness, a shade too hard for a mild mannered person like myself
