Best Times

A Poem by Liz Gonzales Aguilar
"

why, really?

"
Why do some memories
stay not only in our tongues and nose?
Why do most of them
always have to stay in the heart?
Why don't we have a selective part of our memory
which tends to forget?

I don't understand why
something that made me so happy once
makes me feel sad now.

Maybe that is how it is
with the best memories.

When we get older. Even the bad memories become less painful. Funny how the mind and heart worked. Memories can appear without control. I like the ending to the excellent poem.

i guess because that is how a memory stays a memory. Something we have been through. That is how Yesterdays & memories intertwine with each other. WOnderful questions to ponder on. Awesome!
