A Poem by Sweet Emotions

Inspired by a book I read about gangs.

Raindrops glistening in the early morning sun
tears washed away
any sign
of the previous night
No one to claim the body
No one but ghosts to hear the
empty shell fall
soul lost to the streets
Only the dandelions growing in the cracks
of the sidewalk
keep the lost child company
while the body once so innocent
waits to be found by something
other than the life that
destroyed her
No one cared about her story
The dirty streets looked so appealing
The lure of freedom disguised the blood
underneath the unwanted flowers
that looked so pretty on the sidewalk
in the early morning sun

i don't think i read the book.
i don't know what happened.
i do know that dandelions are worthwhile company.
they are strong, persistant they smell nice and are pleasant to the eye.

their enemies will never extinguish them.
excellent role models.
(and they make great wine and salad's i'm told).
great company for "the lost child"

i never read the book, but inspiration makes a good poem

Once again, vivid imagery. After the first initial read through I closed my eyes and imagined the scene that played out. Very dark and eery. Nicely written. You have talent.
