Babel

Babel

A Poem by Tempest

Babel

I have put away childish things and as such have put you from my life -
Forever,
For the night need not the sun to make merry,
And I know what it is to know,
I feel what there is to feel,
There are no blinders upon my heart,
There is no binds upon my eyes,
Such skill lies in the few,
Capacity in the many,
Your empty words have withered and fallen away,
And my keen eyes see them for the ashes they are,
For the fair day has taken ill,
Such a burned out lifeless pallor,
And the night has captivated the sky,
Contented at last without you.
