Societal Flaws

Societal Flaws

A Poem by Foxx

She spoke, but was never heard.

She cried, but was never seen.

The beauty was hidden, the light blown out,

Concealed by her fake facade.

Few touched her shattered remains,

Afraid of what was to come.

She hid behind fear, controlling her life,

Seldom was she around.

The ghosts inhibited her,

Controlling her every move,

Seizing her body violently,

Ripping every shred of her sanity.

The people were ghosts, zombies,

Dead figments littering the streets.

If only others could see what she saw,

The poisonous people around her.

The people cannot be trusted,

No matter what they say.

They cannot hear her, or speak or talk,

Without destroying others.

As life goes on, she contemplates still,

Why she is cursed with this gift.

The gift to see people as they really are,

While others blindly follow along.

Society grips at her throat,

Rips her heart away,

Devours her brains,

She vanishes away…
