Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Shannon Miller

Close your eyes

Make a wish

Say goodbye

Blow a kiss

Burn the page

Lock away the ashes

Eyes forward

Don’t look back

Drown the feeling

Don’t dwell

Lock it up

Throw away the key

Chin up

Stay strong

Don’t cry

Move on

Convince yourself

You’ll be fine

Put it in a bottle

Cast it to sea

Watch the tides

Hope it won’t come back

See it on the waves

Try to drown

Forget and replace

Find another

A different distraction

Ignore the ache

Find a hope

That this one isn’t the same

Thank you so much!
This is so powerful! Your words are simple & your phrasing is brief, but somehow you pack a big WHACK in what you are saying. You repeat all the ways we have of shutting people up, telling them to stop feeling, stop experiencing what's really happening to you, & instead, act in a way that is comfortable to others. Don't impose on others by having a response to life. No, you need to be proper & well-disciplined. Your sarcasm blows a gasket & your examples of "stuffing it" are superb! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
