Going Dark

Going Dark

A Poem by J. Land

Going dark
Note to note
The melody of life in minor key
Settled between promise and disillusion
Never quite swayed to believe
Hope that renders light
Vertiginous on a ledge
Prodded closer to the edge

Repentance finds its way
Amid the cacophony of voices
Saying life is painted by an Impressionist
Not a Realist (Realism had its day)
Eyes focus Heavenward, hands raise to the Divine
Shuttering out the bitter half light of the willful
On a lark
Going dark

Repentance and shunning away sins are both quite different... we hope that all our sins can be forgiven but we fail to flee from it.The contrast between realism and impressionalism is wonderful.I liked the strong message of the poem.Storms the brain of the reader with variety of thoughts.. :) well done

You have my pen light soul searching through the bread of my childhood with this one...fisher of men.. I am a assuming through the expressionism crested wave you went deep to make this heaven to earth make land fall..indeed going dark for what reason to shut out or to go deeper within? I like the contrast in this piece..excellent
